The
medical doctors of Tallahassee Primary Care Associates (TPCA) had strengthened
their group medical practice by centralizing billing services, purchasing
and other administrative functions. For better quality control and
a more streamlined approach to patient care, TPCA also established
its own lab and diagnostic imaging center. The only trouble was that
all these services were scattered in different locations. To truly “streamline” these
functions, TPCA needed a central office.
Enter Parrish Group. Thanks to the partnership that resulted, TPCA moved into a custom-designed, 32,000 sq. ft. medical office on Miccosukee Commons, along the medical corridor, in 2003.
“This allowed all of our central services and many provider services to come together under one roof,” says Dr. Thomas Serio, a family medicine physician and TPCA Board member. And that’s good news for the thousands of patients the group serves.
“It’s truly ‘one stop,’” Dr. Serio says. “We’re speeding up healthcare in most cases.”
For example, he says, “A female patient came in recently and had her labs drawn, a mammogram, a dexa scan, a physical and pap all in the same place and on the same day.”
Joining forces with Parrish Group was a good decision, Dr. Serio says. Physicians, the lab director, imaging directors and other top managers were all able to customize their own space. Plus, TPCA was offered five weekly walk-throughs during construction and they moved in on time.
“These days, I feel I’m taking better care of patients,” Dr. Serio adds, “and that’s due in a large part to our partnership with Parrish Group.”
